Our mission is to provide an academically stimulating environment to physicians training in pulmonary and critical care medicine, enabling them to practice medicine in whatever environment they choose. Our fellows learn to recognize uncommon syndromes or unusual presentations of common conditions, and approach treatment plans with familiarity of the current literature and the ability to apply this to the unique elements of each patient. Fellows are trained with state-of-the-art equipment but with an emphasis on the fundamentals of pulmonary physiology. Perhaps most of all, however, we pride ourselves on the sensitivity that our fellows express to their patients and colleagues.

The combined Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine / Montefiore Medical Center is a 3-year training program located in the North Bronx, New York. Each year, we select 3 or 4 fellows from approximately 300 applications received from the ERAS application system. Applications are usually received between November and January and those who are selected to interview, visit the institution between February and April. We participate in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).
